Google Adds “Answer Now” Button to Gemini for Faster AI Replies

gemini answer now

Google adds a new “Answer now” button to the Gemini app on Android, iOS, and the web, giving users more control over response speed. The feature targets users who want quick answers without waiting for extended reasoning.

“Answer now” lets users skip long reasoning steps

As reported by 9to5Google, the “Answer now” button appears next to Gemini’s spinning status indicator while a response is generating. Tapping it immediately delivers an answer, bypassing the longer in-depth thinking phase.

The option works with higher-tier models, including Gemini 3 Pro and Gemini 3 Thinking. Importantly, the button does not switch Gemini to a faster or lower-quality model. Gemini continues using the selected model but shortens the reasoning process.

“Answer now” replaces the old Skip button

Google confirmed that “Answer now” fully replaces the older “Skip” button. The company has started rolling it out to both free and paid users across supported platforms.

This update fits into Google’s broader push to refine the Gemini chat experience, following recent integrations like Gemini in Gmail and Gemini Personal Intelligence.

Google continues to iterate quickly on Gemini features, focusing on usability and responsiveness. Beyond this update, reports suggest Google may explore deeper AI integrations in the future, including potential ties between Gemini and Apple’s Siri.

That’s not all, the company has introduced Gemini Personal Intelligence beta, and Gmail also got Gemini integration.

For now, the new “Answer now” button gives Gemini users a simple way to choose speed over extended reasoning when they need information fast.
