You can record your screen in Windows 10 using the built-in Xbox Game Bar – no need to install extra software. Here’s how to do it.


🎥 How to Record Screen in Windows 10

1. Enable Xbox Game Bar

  • Go to Settings > Gaming > Xbox Game Bar
  • Make sure it’s turned ON

2. Open Game Bar

  • Press Win + G
  • Click Yes if prompted with “Do you want to open Game Bar?”

3. Start Screen Recording

  • Click the Record (●) button in the “Capture” widget
  • Or press Win + Alt + R to start/stop recording instantly

4. Find Your Recordings

  • Navigate to:
    C:\Users\[YourName]\Videos\Captures

✅ Bonus: Record Audio Too

  • To capture microphone input:
    Press Win + Alt + M during recording
  • To include system sounds:
    Enable it in Game Bar’s audio settings

❌ Limitations

  • Game Bar doesn’t record File Explorer or desktop
